Emergency Department Visits

Time Range: 2005-2010       Resolution: Zip Code

The rate of emergency department visits per 100,000 persons (all-ages and all-cause) measures the number of visits to emergency departments divided by the number of individuals residing in the geographic area.
Rationale
The rate of emergency department visits is used a proxy measure for a lack of access to health insurance and primary care services.
